SH035. How to Hit Clean Pitches | Square Face Drill

The key is to not let your clubface roll over. And if you can work on that, you’ll hit more consistent pitch shots.

In your backswing, you can get a little wrist hinge but you don’t want the clubface to roll back much.

And as you swing through, make sure you hold the clubface square.

Don’t roll your release like you would in a full swing.

In the video, you’ll learn the Square Face drill to put all these tips together.

Here’s a quick summary of the drill you’ll learn…

Start with taking swings with just your right hand on the club.

Next, do the same with the left hand only.

Keep in mind that left hand only will likely be more difficult than using the right hand only.

Finally, finish the drill with both hands.

Stay connected by bringing the club through with your body rotation, keep the clubface square…

And you’ll improve your consistency!

SH033. Awesome Golf Putting Drill | 18 Hole Birdie Drill!

In this video, you’ll learn an awesome golf putting drill called the “18 hole birdie drill.”

The best players that I see out there day in and day out are the players that practice their putting like they’re in a tournament.

They don’t just putt a few 3 footers and then move on to the range.

They find a way to make their practice putts matter so that when they’re out on the course, they’ll be clutch.

As you practice this putting game, keep track of your progress.

For each putt that you make, count it as a birdie.

So, if you drain it, you’re -1.

Hit the next one in and you’re -2 and so on.

For your first putt, set the ball in the 8 to 12 foot range.

This distance will be your most common range on the course so it’s important to get a good feel for this range.

Next, hit a putt in the 10 to 20 foot range that has a different break than the first ball you putted.

Do this 18 times, varying your distance and break for each putt.

Remember…

Keep track of your progress and see if you can break your record each time you practice your putting.

SH031. Golf Putting Tip | Best Cheat to See the Line (Rifle Scope Drill)

In this video, you get a great golf putting tip.

To make a lot of putts, the first thing you’ll need to do is find your line.

The Rifle Scope drill is the best cheat that I’ve found to help you find your line fast.

It’s like you’re shooting down the barrel of a rifle.

In the first part of the video, you’ll learn how to test which of your eyes is dominant.

Once you discover which eye is dominant, you’ll want to have that eye looking down the line for your putts.

Next, stand next to the ball with your dominant eye slightly behind the ball’s line to the hole.

This will put you in a good position to naturally see your line throughout the putt.

A few more tips…

  • Get just a little bit of forward shaft lean for a better roll, and
  • Keep your left wrist flat and hold your finish to avoid a stabbing motion into contact.
