1.45 How Pro Golfers Use the Power Turn

In this video, you’ll learn how pro golfers use the Power Turn.

As you analyze many pro swings, it’s important to take a close look at the swing moves that they all share.

Of course, there are plenty of moves that are noticeably different from one pro to the next, such as leg action and how high they bring the club at the top of the swing…

But there are only a handful of moves that pros perform similarly.

One of the moves that all pro players share is getting what I refer to in the Top Speed Golf System as the Power Turn.

1.35 How Pro Golfers Use the “Straight-Line Release”

In this video, you’ll learn how pro golfers use the “Straight-Line Release”.

First, you’ll get a quick recap of what the Straight-Line Release is and why it’s important.

Essentially, the video explores where pro golfers fully release their clubs.

It’s measured by finding the spot where the club shaft angle splits the forearms.

With the pro swings, you’ll see many different types of wrist releases, and that’s OK.

For example, Ernie Els rolls his right hand almost completely over his left…

While guys like Jordan Spieth and Zach Johnson release with their hands completely sideways.

So don’t worry if you don’t have the same release as one particular pro.

What really matters is that all the top pros release the club in a similar way, which is in front of the golf ball.

You should do this as well…

As you make contact with the ball, you want to have forward shaft lean and release the club fully well past impact.

In the Top Speed Golf System, I recommend swinging with a Straight-Line Release at 45 degrees.

That’s a baseline, so you don’t have to be exactly 45 degrees.

So you can do the same and release the club with power!

1.3 How Pro Golfers Use the “Compression Line”

In this video, you’ll learn how pro golfers use the “Compression Line”.

First, you’ll get a quick recap of what the Compression Line is and why it’s important.

It refers to the line created at impact that runs through the center of the left ankle to the center of the left shoulder socket.

And this line should be tilted away slightly from the target.

For short irons, the Compression Line is more vertical than with longer clubs.

Note that with the pros, you’ll see that the left hip socket rests on this line.

They’re not bumping their hips out in front, which is a common issue among non pro players.

It’s really important for you to NOT bump your hips past the Compression Line because it can lead to unnecessary hip pain and possibly injury.

One thing you’ll notice among all pros is that their Compression Lines are similar…

The line goes through the center of the ankle, hip socket, and shoulder socket.

In the Top Speed Golf system, I stress the importance of this alignment since it’s a move that all pros share.

You can use a different grip, different takeaway, different backswing, etc.

But pay special attention to the moves that all pros have in their swings.

So you can do the same and improve your consistency!

1.35 How Pro Golfers Use the Stable Fluid Spine

In this video, you’ll learn how pro golfers use the Stable Fluid Spine in their golf swings.

(Not sure what the “Stable Fluid Spine” is? Check out the #1 key to consistency in golf here.)

Even if you see a pro swing that appears unorthodox or inconsistent…

For example, Bubba Watson’s swing…

What’s really important to notice is that those players keep their spine angle stable throughout the swing.

And that’s really important for making consistent contact.

In addition to seeing Bubba’s swing, you’ll also see the spine angle at impact for many more top pros.

Notice that they’re all tilted back a bit at impact.

Typically, the spine angle at impact is around 25 degrees for pros.

You don’t need to tilt exactly 25 degrees but I suggest that you be in the ballpark of that number.

Now, you may be wondering if you need to keep the spine angle in the same spot throughout the swing.

It’s OK to to be a little more upright at address, but I suggest maintaining the same angle, or very close to it, throughout the swing.

That’ll help you with your consistency.

But the main point of this video is to keep your spine angle consistent, even if other parts of your body seem to be out of control.

Bubba’s a great example of this…

It seems nuts that he can hit the ball so consistently with his feet all over the place and with how he swings with such a long backswing.

But Bubba’s consistency is due to his Stable Fluid Spine.

1.45 How Pro Golfers Use Lag

In this Top Speed Golf system video, you’ll discover how pro golfers use lag in their swings.

You’ll see analyses of past pros such as Ben Hogan all the way to current pros such as Adam Scott and Tiger.

First, you’ll see how much lag angle they appear to get in their swings.

In the Top Speed Golf System, I recommend that your lag angle appears to be less than 65 degrees.

As you’ll see in the video, pros are way lower than that.

For example, Hogan’s lag angle was around 19 degrees.

That angle is extreme and was achieved with the help of very flexible wrists.

Remember, shoot for under 65 degrees and you’ll be coming in with a good amount of lag.
