Why You Need This: Today, you'll discover "The Single Move To Hit The Ball and Then The Ground"
In today's lesson...
...I'll show you the extremely common move you'll need to avoid that's making ball then ground contact so difficult on you.
Once you see the simple, missing piece that makes ball first contact much easier...
...it will help put an end to inconsistent ball impact and over the top swing paths!

All right, so everybody wants that divot in front of the golf. I tell you, I hit that one as good as I can. Hit one. So 166 yards on the carry with a nine iron. We'll see that divot started at the golf ball and then came out in front and I squared of it. So why is that so hard?
Well, there's actually one small thing that once you tweak this, it makes it way easier. So you see, we've all heard how to get the divot in front. I'm going to spare you tons and tons of instruction because you already heard all this before. You want to get your white to shift slightly to the right in the back swing.
And then from there, as you're making your transition, get your weight to the left and then keep your weight left all the way through contact. That gets your low point farther in front and that gets you to hit this golf ball first and then the ground in front. You see, there's a problem with that, though, because when most people do that, they end up doing something like this right.
A thinned it came down way over the top and steep. And I swung to the left, basically a giant slicing motion. So when you get that divot in front, you're coming in steep to the ground. You're kind of chopping into the turf. It's this glancing, not very solid contact. And then the ball ends up either dribbling across the ground because you hit it thin the equator of the ball or is this way inconsistent?
Maybe a one out of ten or 15 feels pretty good. So the key to this is shift my weight to the front, but I keep my upper body behind the golf ball. So here's what I mean by this. If you look at every single tour player, what you're going to see is that, yes, you do see a weight shift to the front and if I'm using a golf ball here, let me give you a couple really good check points to make sure that you're doing this the right way before I kind of show you the secret to making this work.
But I do get a slight weight shift to the right in my transition. I get my weight to the left, and when I'm coming to contact, I want my right foot coming off the ground, meaning then clearing over to my left side and I want my left shoulder or my left armpit to be slightly in front of the golf ball.
This is putting me in a position to where I can hit the golf ball first and then release down in front. Here's the kicker. Here's the key. If I do this and my shoulders are level, meaning that my right shoulder, my left shoulder, our slightly the same height that's going to be this right shoulder coming steeper, kicking the club out here and it's over the top chop.
That's the bad result that we just talked about. And saw on the screen. Here's what I want to do. I want to do that exact same motion weight shift. So the left right foot comes up off the ground. My hips and my body are clearing out of the way, just like we've all heard. My left armpit is slightly in front of the golf ball, everything identical to what we said before.
But I'm going to have my shoulders tilted or what's called right side bend to where there's a solid 15 degrees of tilt here. Now, what that does is that it puts me in a position to where I'm behind the golf ball coming from the inside now. So this club, instead of kicking over to the right and being steep with my shoulders level, all of a sudden I took those shoulders.
I'm getting the club from the inside I'm coming in nice and level with the ground rather than chopping down into it. So let's go and try that again. A little weight shift to the left. Everything opens up armpit in front. And then from there tilt the shoulders about 15 degrees to the right. That puts you in the position where you can come from the inside.
Like we just talked about. Now, once we feel that we're just going to recreate that same thing and that allows me to get my weight left still hit that drawer that's inside out if you don't do that, it's just impossible to hit that draw and it just kind of stinks when the contact isn't as good as you'd like.
Now there's a great device and the one that I used here earlier I call it a div or this called the board. And this thing is fantastic because it gives you immediate feedback. You know, if I start to fall back and hit back here it immediately shows up. If I get my weight shifting to the left and in front of the golf ball hit immediately shows up.
But the great thing about this too, is that it helps you identify where your path is going. So if I get that level shoulders over the top, it looks something like that. Yes, it's in front of the golf ball, but you can see that it's going way to the left like an over the top slice. If I have this board set up square and I get my weight left, but I tilt my shoulders, now all of a sudden I can get that divot nice and square as I'm still getting the divot in front of the golf ball.
So you don't have to have one of these. You can just there's a bunch of things you can do. Either draw a line on the driving range and set your golf ball on it and read your divots. You can do lots of things that are going to do the same thing. This divot boards doing this is just way more convenient and way easier so if you want one of these, I'll put a link down below in the description.
You'll get the best deal you can get anywhere you're going to get from that link so you don't have to search all over the internet trying to find the best deal. This is the cheapest price you shouldn't get it anywhere and it helps us out too, because we get a few bucks every time you buy one from that link again, you don't have to buy from that link.
You don't have to have this device. I just love it because it makes things way easier. Now there's one thing that makes this a lot more simple, and it's what I call the straight line release in the top speed golf system. So again, it's a little awkward sometimes for people to feel like they're tilted with their shoulders. Why would I be tilted there?
Well, it's not. And so you learn that I'm actually throwing the club to my release position and the golf ball is just getting in the way. So it's trying to hit at the golf ball where all of a sudden I'm using a lot of hands and arms. I learn that I'm getting my weight to the left and I'm throwing through the golf ball.
That's when things get easy. Now, what I want you to do next is go to the straight line release section of the top speed golf system. So go to the instruction tab, TSG system, straight line release section and go straight to the hammer throw video. Now in that video, I want to give you a completely intuitive way to naturally release the club out in front to where it makes sense to tilt your shoulders and get your weight to your lead side.
So it's not until you make it intuitive to where it happens automatically. You don't have to think about it. This video is going to be the perfect next step for what we worked on today. So head on over to the hammer throw. I can't wait to see you there. Best of luck with your golf game. Let's go and get started.
