Clay Ballard: All right, so it’s absolutely fantastic to have you here. I’m going to go over something that I think is really important.
A lot of times you’re stuck indoors and you can’t get out to the driving range, can’t get out to the golf course for whatever reason that is, and it’s very important to know how to practice indoors.
So I’ve put together a series of videos that not only teach you the right drills and how to do those, we’re actually going to work along together with some drills. I’ll take about that here in a minute.
But the reasons why and how we practice the right way, and I think that if you really learn the inside and out of how we should practice, how you should be working on your game, you’re going to see your game skyrocket.
Now, I’m going to talk about various things in this series, the very first video that you’re going to watch next is going to talk about equipment. What equipment do you need to get the most out of your indoor practice?
Everything from a rolled-up piece of carpet to a $25,000 launch monitor, I’m going to give you some of the pros and cons of each of those and some things to kind of avoid so you don’t spend a bunch of money and you know you just kind of wasted it, so to speak.
Now if you already have your equipment ready, you know exactly what you need, you’ve already got a simulator, you’ve got what you want, don’t even have to watch that video. You can go straight to the next one.
Now in that video it’s a very important one. That’s part two in this series, and in that video, I actually talk about one of the things that can basically make you waste all your time practicing indoors.
I’ve done this myself, I’ve seen players do this. I’ve probably spent hundreds of hours practicing from home or indoors and it was all completely wasted.
Shouldn’t have done it for 10 minutes, I’d been better off watching a movie, eating popcorn, my golf game probably would have been better because I actually made my golf game worse by practicing indoors the wrong way.
I also practiced indoors the right way where I’ve seen tremendous success, and I’ve had players seen tremendous success by focusing on some of the key principles that I learned the hard way.
So don’t go through a couple years of practicing the wrong way, getting worse. I’m going to give you those secrets, your game’s going to go just like this. It’ll make total sense to you.
Then in the next videos, these are going to be short clips talking about kind of each of the key pieces that we really need to understand inside and out when we’re working indoors that kind of tie in to the secret that I’m talking about in that video before.
Basically, I’m going to tell you what the thing is to focus on when you’re working indoors, and then we’re going to break down the different pieces of those, just explaining what they are.
Now I’m not going to go into a lot of instruction in detail as far as how to improve that in those videos. That’s coming next.
After I go through the different pieces, we’re then going to do some workalongs together. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to practice right with you.
You turn on your phone, you turn on your computer, you grab a golf club, a rolled-up piece of carpet and we’re going to practice together.
So I’m going to tell you exactly what I’m thinking as I’m going through these. What I’m focusing on in my mind, how I would look at that, how I would work on that.
I’m going to make a swing, tell you what to focus on, and then you’re going to do the same thing.
The cool thing about that, and man I would have loved to have that myself, is that you don’t have to worry about so many different things and trying to make sense of articles, and videos, and all this different conflicting information.
You just grab a club, do what I tell you to do, and you’re going to get a lot better. It really comes down to being that simple. These are tried-and-true methods that I’ve had help tons of players.
Let’s jump right into it. The next video’s going to be on equipment, and I can’t wait to get started. Let’s go ahead and jump in.
