Why You Need This: In this video, you'll learn how to move your hips through impact.
Many golfers struggle as they make their downswing...
Their hips end up stalling out, which causes issues during impact.
Here's the problem...
If you don't get the proper hip rotation, the natural compensation is to start standing up near impact...
And then, in order to make decent contact, you're forced to flip the club head.
Sure, you can hit the ball straight, but don't let that fool you...
Because you're missing out on a ton of power!
You can create much more power by keeping your hips moving through impact.
In this video, you'll discover how stalled hips are holding you back...
And how your hips should rotate throughout impact.
Watch this video now and start crushing the ball!

Hi guys, and welcome back. I’ve got a real quick video for you this time. We’re going to talk about how to keep those hips moving through impact.
I know a lot of people struggle as they make their downswing, their hips end up stalling out. You stand up out of the shot, you end up flipping at the ball. It’s a very common problem for people.
What’s happening here, is if I’m setting up to this ball and making a full swing, as I start to come down, a lot of times what happens is you’ve been told to bump your hips toward the target.
What happens is, your hip gets out in front of your lead ankle, so we have lead ankle, my hip socket is in front of that, and then my shoulder is back. Now my hip socket and the bones of my hips socket are grinding in there, and everything stalls out.
I can’t really rotate as I’m coming through here, and I’ll end up standing up out of the shot to try to generate some power and sped, and get the club head moving through contact.
So in this video, we’re going to talk about alignment, and talking about a feel of how you can rotate these hips. Just like we talk about in a lot of our videos, the compression line is really, really important.
As I’m coming into contact, this is what we teach in the Top Speed Golf System, is as we’re coming into contact I want that lead ankle, lead hip, and lead shoulder in a straight line if we’re looking from face on.
When I’m in this alignment, I’m no longer grinding my hip socket, the bones in my hip socket together, and I can freely rotate my hips back and through without any pain or discomfort at all. I could even go more than 45° open if I wanted to I could go all the way up to 60° or 70° open.
We don’t want to do that, we want to have about 45° open like we talk about in our system. That’s going to allow us to get room to clear through that shot.
So the good idea, the good picture I want you to have in your head, once you get these good alignments and you check that on camera, is I want you to feel like there’s someone on each side of your body. There’s one person back here, and one person over here, and there’s a rope tied to your hips.
The person back here has the rope that’s tied on this side of your hip, and if he pulls on that, that’s going to open this hip going back that way.
I want to imagine the person on this side of your body has a rope tied on this side of the hip and he’s going to be pulling it, and it’s going to pull your right hip forward in that direction.
When that works together in my downswing, as I’m about halfway down and I’m really feeling like I’m loading into the left side of my body, I don’t want to shift too far forward.
Then I want to imagine those guys with the ropes pulling on them to allow my hips to rotate all the way on through. Then I’m going to come all the way on through to a good, full finish as I’m coming on around.
Now one thing that’s going to help you to keep those hips moving, and to get that good, full finish, is we don’t actually want to keep our head down after contact.
So after I hit the ball, I don’t want to have my head down like this all the way on through contact.
As soon as I make contact with the ball, I want my head to raise on up, and now you can see that in my finish my belt buckle is all the way through the target, and my shoulders are actually pointing over to the left and that allows me to keep on rotating all the way through the shot.
Let me demonstrate this, the incorrect way would look something like this. You can see that’s all arms, I’m stopping my follow through, my hips are stopping.
The correct way, I’m turning all the way on around, and my head is coming up, my shoulders are rotating on through, and you can see how much freer that gives the appearance of my hips swinging through there.
Those two visualizations, turning those ropes in opposite directions, and letting your head come up high, going to free up your swing a lot, make you a lot more comfortable over the ball, and they’re really going to free up those hips.
Let’s go ahead and try that out in this swing. There we go, hit that one nice and solid. Head nice and high on the follow through, hit that thing hard, it went a long way.
So good luck to you guys, work on those keys, I’ll see you all soon.
