Why You Need This: In this video, you'll learn how to get consistently solid contact.
Coming out of your posture early is one of the biggest culprits that causes inconsistent shots.
And it's more common than you think.
Just take a few minutes to watch folks at the range and you'll see that a lot of players rise out of their posture way too early.
And, to a certain extent, this problem is likely affecting your swing as well.
In this video, I'll help you improve your consistency with 2 great tips...
#1: Swing with a Full Rotation
A full rotation throughout the swing will not only help your power, but it'll also help you hit with a stable, under control swing.
You'll be able to use the momentum of the club more as opposed to muscling the club around, which is bound to cause inconsistency.
Not getting a full rotation may result in a choppier, inconsistent swing.
#2: Stay in Your Posture Through the Hitting Zone
Mentioned earlier, coming out of your posture early causes inconsistent contact.
If you stand up out of your posture before you make contact, you'll be forced to adjust the club and may even flip the it just to make contact.
Flipping the club is a distance killer and will make it more difficult for you to hit with consistency.
In the video, you'll see a great, simple drill to help you visualize staying in your posture.
And you can even do part of the drill in your living room :)
The tips in this video will help you make a consistent, full turn in the swing...
And will help you maintain your posture through contact for more consistent contact.

Hi guys, so have you all been struggling with your Power Turn and coming out of your posture at the same time?
So we’re in the golf swing, we’re trying to make a nice full turn going back, get at least 90°, preferably a little bit more, but throughout the swing as we’re doing this, we want to stay in our posture.
If you’re looking at my shoulders, I’m going to be in my posture as I go to the backswing, as I start down I’m going to be in my posture as I’m releasing the club, so I’m kind of staying in one angle here.
So if we can imagine this is like a helicopter, and our helicopter propellers would be doing this as we rotate our shoulders, well as we start to bend forward, then that’s going to have this same helicopter plan, almost as if I were flying a helicopter this way, coming out of my spine.
That’s going to be nice and consistent throughout the entire swing. If we have early extensions, and we’re starting to come up this way, our shoulders level out, we’re taking our nice consistent helicopter propellers throughout the swing.
Nice consistent swing with our body, and we’re changing those to doing this and it starts to change all those angles.
So backswing, and then downswing, it’s making everything a lot more difficult to continuously square the club up on the ball.
In this video, I’m going to talk about how not only to get your good Power Turn, get those shoulders loaded up, but then to also stay in your posture as you’re coming through.
I’ve got two really good tips that are going to help you with this.
All right, so first let’s work on our Power Turn and get these shoulders moving. A very important part of this, we’ve got to get the hips to rotate. If I put my arms out to the side and I rotate back as far as I can, I’m letting my hips go, and I’m making sure that my shoulders get at least to 90°, if not a little bit more.
I could imagine my arms are kind of pointing outside my right foot and really getting these shoulders to rotate. As I’m coming on through, I’m going to let my right arm come down the fairway if I’m going this direction, and feel like my chest is pointing directly behind me.
So do about 15 or 20 of these, just to feel the rotation of your body as you’re going back, as you’re coming through.
Now as we set up to the ball, as I mentioned, I’m going to do the same thing except instead of being level with the ground, I’m going to let these hips drop back now to get me in my posture. Now those helicopter propellers as we go back are going to be at an angle.
Then as we come through, I’m going to let everything rotate on around, and I’m going to stay in that angle all the way until my chest is facing toward the target and my arms re facing toward the target this way, perpendicular to the target.
Notice how my hips are rotating back to get that turn, and rotating through. My hips have rotated all the way until my bet buckle’s facing the target.
This would be about when I’m releasing that club, or after the release, and I’m about right here. My hands are about chest height in the follow through.
That’s my hands going to be in this position in the follow through of the swing. That’s when we’re at the end of when we’re staying in posture.
Now from there, then I can go ahead and stan up all the way on around. So it’s going to look just like this. Go ahead do about 15 or 20 of these now as you’re standing in your living room.
Big turn going back, stayed in my posture. Big turn coming through, this would be my release, and then as I come all the way on around, I can go ahead and level up and get my right arm kind of going down the fairway.
That’s going to help me to go all the way back and through. But everywhere through the hitting zone, I’m staying in that posture so I can be nice and consistent.
Now let’s go ahead and add a club to it. I’m going to do the same thing, but let’s just put the club across our shoulders instead of having our arms out.
Now my club is pointing down about a couple feet outside the golf ball is fine. I’m getting it turned out to where it’s behind the golf ball. Then as I come through, I’m going to have my shoulders still in posture where I feel like this is coming down just barely outside the golf ball there.
Anywhere from here in this couple-foot area, that’s a good point to have the club pointing as I come through to my finish, which would be this part of the swing.
So again, I’m going to go ahead and do about 15 or 20 reps doing that. As I make a full swing, I can go ahead and let everything come all the way around. After that point, I’m going to go ahead and let my body come around and stand up a little bit.
Once I’ve done 15 or 20 just level with the ground, 15 or 20 staying in our posture working on that good Power Turn, so it’s just fitting in with what we’ve already done with the Power Turn, we’re just staying in posture as we’re doing this.
Now I’m going to go ahead and make some swings with the golf club, and all I’m going to do is just let my arms and hands kind of flow back on that same angle and come through all the way to a good full finish.
Do another 15 or 20, and that’s going to start to resemble exactly what you want to have in your real swing. At this point we’ve just done these in our living room, got 100 reps or maybe a little bit more.
Once we’re comfortable with this, we’re going to take it out to the golf course, let everything flow on through, keep that good posture as we’re making our Power Turn, not only back, from through the shot.
There we go guys. Get that full rotation going back and through. Stay in your posture. You’re going to hit it great.
