All right, so here we are at Level 3, we’re putting all three, everything we’ve learned in these session together. So if you’re still struggling with lag, go through and work through the videos in the individual levels, this is where we’re going to put the rubber to the road, and really master that muscle memory and really train our body to do this without even thinking about it.
So in Level 1 we talked about how we’re going to pause halfway down, we’re increasing lag as we start our downswing. When our left arm’s parallel with the ground we’re going to have 65° angle or less. Left wrist nice and flat as we’re coming down.
We’re also going to make sure we’re flattening out that swing plane. If we’re coming in too steep it’s not going to look like very much lag. As we get flatter and flatter, it’s going to appear to be more and more.
At Level 2 we added in later in the downswing, as that club’s parallel with the ground, left wrist is bowed, right wrist, knuckles are back toward the elbow, and then we’re letting that go. Now we get a good feel for this happening.
Now what I want you to do is go out to the driving range and take this to the final piece. Go ahead and check on camera, make sure your practice swings look good, you’ve got a good amount of lag as you’re starting down. Then you can go ahead and hit a couple shots, check that on video.
Once that looks good, between each shot I want to do two or three practice swings, get the lag looking fantastic, and then go ahead and hit 10, 15, 20 balls, and then a few more practice swings. You’re going to work on through mostly hitting balls on this one.
We’re going to hit 3,000 shots again, probably 500-600 of those are going to be practice swings, the rest of them are going to be full swings.
So god luck, work hard, take it to the range. Get in these reps, don’t skip this prat, and you’ll be getting the most lag you’ve ever seen.
Good luck to you guys, I’ll see you all soon.
