In this video, “Jordan Spieth Putting Drill | Climb the Ladder & Make More Putts”, I’ll explain one of the secret drills for putting like Jordan Spieth…
Tired of running the ball 4 feet by the hole, only to finish with a 3 putt?
With this “Jordan Spieth putting drill”, you’ll gain complete control of your distance…
Which means less 3 putts and more tap-in pars.
When you think about your three putts, there’s probably a common theme.
When’s the last time you left the ball 6 feet short? Didn’t think so.
Most of the time, we putt with too much speed.
That leaves testy come-back putts and more bogeys.
Watch this video now to discover this Jordan Spieth drill!
You’ll get better feel for your speed and control, better touch, and more confidence on those greens.

Hi guys, I got a great drill for your distance control. This is really going to be a fun game, this is one of the drills that Jordan Spieth says he practices a lot, we all know how good he’s putting.
This is what’s called the Ladder Drill. It’s easy to do, you’re going to want to grab a few balls to do this, and all I’m going to do is I’m going to start out with my original ball that I’m going to be putting here.
I’m going to put a ball out of the way, about three feet in front. What I have to do is I have to putt it with just enough speed to get past my original ball.
Let’s say that I putt the first one and it goes here, actually I’ll just go ahead and demonstrate it for you.
I’m going to go ahead and putt one and go past that first ball as small of an amount as I can, and there’s my first putt. I went about six inches past.
Now with my second putt, I’m going to try to go past my new ball, go a little bit harder. There we go, and I’m six inches or a foot past, and then I can just keep going farther, and farther, and farther so my score right now is two.
As I putt again that’s going to be three, as I putt again that’s going to be four, and now I’m going to get as many balls as I can on my way to my finishing ball.
As soon as I hit one past the finishing ball, or I leave one short of my ball that I putted before, then I’m done with the drill and I have to start all over.
A great score, again we’re going to start with this ball 15 feet away from my finishing ball. My first putt has to go at least three feet. A great score is a nine. If you can get a nine that means you’re controlling your distance really well, and you’re going to be really making a lot of putts because that ball is going to be diving into the whole every time.
If you want to make it really tough on yourself, turn around and go downhill, it makes it really difficult.
I’m going uphill here a little bit, I’m cheating a little bit to make it easy for me on camera. If you want to turn around downhill, especially on a steep slope, you get nine, you are really, really controlling your distance.
So work hard on this game, I recommend starting out with this putting for beginnings, try to see if you can get six.
Then as you get more and more advanced, see if you can get eight, nine, even ten if you’re going uphill. Turn around and go downhill, and if you can do that you’re going to be a pro.
So good luck to you guys, good luck with your putting, make some more putts, and I’ll see you all soon.
