In today’s video, “How to Hit Your Putts Dead Center | Sweet Spot 360°”, I’ll cover an interesting theory in the world of putting…
Did you know that tour pros consistently hit their putts in about a 1/4 inch area on the putter face?
Would you like to know how to hit your putts dead center every time?
In this video you’ll discover a great training aid that’ll make it easy to feel dead solid contact time and time again.
The secret lies in something called variability training.
You’ll learn a secret technique that you haven’t heard of from any other golf pros.

All right I’ve got a really cool device for you, also from Eyeline Golf. I like a lot of their products that they have, and I’ll put some links below if you’re interested in purchasing these.
Really cheap, easy product to use, it’s called the 360 Sweet Spot. What this does is it allows you to feel when you’re hitting off the toe, off the heel, too low, or too high on the face, and ot really groove in that good, solid strike.
So very, very important. If you’re going to hit the ball very consistently, you’re going to hit the ball and roll it exactly like you want to, you’ve got to hit the dead center of the sweet spot.
What happens is, when we’re putting if we hit it a little bit off the toe, let’s go from this angle. My ball hits a little bit off the toe it flares open the toe of the face and it knocks it off line.
Same thing with the heel, it’s going to knock it off line. So that’s why we have perimeter weighting, these two big pieces of metal on the sides of your putter, is to keep it from twisting and to get it to roll a lot more solid.
So if you look at the best players in the world, they’re hitting a little tiny spot on the middle of the face over and over again when they do research on this. So that really helps it.
Now we’re also going to take advantage of some research on how you can develop your motor skills. This is something called variability training.
It actually shows if you can learn where the toe is, you can learn where the heel is, you can learn where the bottom and where the top is, that’s going to actually help you to get to the center.
That’s exactly what we’re going to do in this drill. What I want you to do is to go ahead and set up to a cup, doesn’t really matter, we’re not going to worry about making a lot of putts here.
But I’m going to start out and I’m going to purposely try to hit some putts off the toe into this kind of cushiony pad here, and I’m definitely going to be able to feel that.
So on this first putt, I’m going to line up like I normally would, and I’m going to try to hit one way off the toe, felt really weird on the face. I could feel the face twist, and then I’m going to go ahead and grab one off the heel, and I’m purposely going to try to hit the ball on the inside of the putter face on the heel.
I want to see what happens here, there we go, and it went out to the right. So we can see how this really changes your direction.
I’m going to do one off the toe, one off the heel, then I’m purposely going to hit one on the pad on the bottom, purposely hit one on the pad on the top, and then in my last ones, now I’ve kind of done a 360 all the way around the face so I can feel where not to hit, and actually training where not to hit can help you to find the sweet spot.
So on these last few, I’m going to go ahead and I’m going to try to make a few putts hitting it right in the center of the sweet spot, and getting that good, solid feel.
There we go, that one felt nice and solid, right on the center. Now the reason this works, they did studies on this in basketball, training to practice.
Instead of shooting free throws from the middle every time, they shot some free throws a little bit in front of the free throw line, a little bit behind, a little bit to the right, a little bit to the left, and what that does is it gives you an overall awareness of where you’re at.
It gives you an overall awareness of where you’re hitting your putts. When you can feel all around the face, you can feel the sweet spot a lot better. It’s going to help you to putt more consistent.
So go ahead and try that out, purposely hit on different spots on your putter, and then you’re going to find that sweet spot and you’re going to be able to tell the difference.
So one last tip here, you want to be really soft with the hands so that you can feel this head and really smooth, so we can get the feedback.
If we’re doing the gorilla grip, we’re tight on our hands, we’re hitting these putts, we’re not going to be able to feel anything. So make sure you stay loose with your grip, that’s going to help out also.
So good luck to you guys, drain some putts, I’ll see you guys soon.
