Clay: Great to have you back. This is the drill recap for your indoor session for the 20 minute posture fix. Now here, we're going to choke up on this club. We must brush the turf. So you have to have something that you're hitting off of so you can actually hear the brushing of the turf. You're trying to get that to brush in front of the ball.
Now from here, all I'm going to do is I'm going to make a little half backswing and I'm going to finish in my straight line release or having that club out in front of me here. Now, when I'm checking, I'm making sure that I'm in my posture and my shoulders are tilted at 45 degrees. And I'm just going to do 10 reps.
I must brush the turf. And when I pause at my finish or the straight line release, I must have my shoulders in their tilt. Once you do that, you're ready to move on to the next section. All right, so here's step number two. We're going to do everything the same as we did in the last one, but now we're going to work on swinging from the inside, shallowing out that club, hitting that nice draw.
Choke up on the club until your thumb's on the grip, on the, on the steel. Bend forward. You must brush the turf as you're doing these, or feel like you could brush the turf as you're doing these. You're going to make a little half backswing, and you're going to pause when the club's parallel with the ground.
The club head must be inside of the stick that you have on the line pointing towards your target. So I'm going to pause for one second here feeling I want my weight to be on my left side, my lead side as I'm doing that. Then I'm going to swing through brushing the turf and I'm going to pause at my straight line release.
My club must be pointing to the right as I'm doing this, and I must be in my posture with my shoulders tilted for the rep to count. 10 reps, you're ready to move on the next one. All right, so in step three, we're going to do everything the same as we did on the last drills, except we're going to add a piece of tape on the ground so that we make sure we're brushing in front of the tape, and we're going to take away the pauses.
So again, I'm going to choke up to my left thumbs on the shaft. I'm going to pretend like my ball would be barely in front of this piece of tape. I'm going to make a little half back swing, feeling the power position club inside. I'm going to come through to my straight line release, which will be the end of my swing.
I'm in my posture, my clubs releasing out to the right, and I'm brushing the turf. So again, 10 reps, all you have to do to do these correctly, take out the pauses, feel the exact same things you felt in the last 10 reps, And you also must brush the turf. If you do that, you're ready to move on to step four.
All right, here we are at step four. In this drill, we're going to do everything the same as the last step, but we're just going to add in the releasing of the club. So in the last one, we choked up on the grip. We got into our posture. We made sure that we moved through the power position, club head inside.
We brushed the turf. We released it with the club head outside and we stayed in our posture. The only change here, is that you want to feel this club head, go ahead and release and turn on over. I want the toe of my club pointing toward the target. I'm going to do 15 fluid reps, just like that. Once you nail those, you're ready to move the next step.
Now, finally, we're here at step five. We're going to do 10 more reps. Everything is exactly the same as we've been working on, except now you're going to come to a full finish. So I'm going to choke up with my left thumb on the grip. I'm going to have the tape on the ground. I make a little half back swing.
Moving through the power position, club heads to the inside. I'm going to release the club, the toe is releasing, my club shaft is pointing to the right. I'm in my posture, just the same as all these drills, and I'm just going to carry that on around until I'm stacked on my front foot. My head is slightly to the right, and I'm stacking that finish.
I want to hold that finish for two full seconds. If I show you from this angle, it'd be like this. I'm going to hold that finish for two full seconds there for the rep to count. I have to brush the turf. I have to feel like I did all the things I've been working on, but we're just going to stack that finish.
So it looks something like this.
And here, as we stand up to our full finish, my shoulders, aren't going to stay in their posture. They're going to go ahead and level out again, just making sure my head is slightly to the right side of my body, holding it for two seconds and you're good to go.
